Entwined

Trees of all varieties & sizes are all unique in their own right. . . .

Due to the elements of the weather, the tree trunks below have come to the end of their life. . . .

But, nature’s way of creating new space for new growth. . . .

Time for Tea

 Collages74

A chilled Sunday, lunch with my daughter & her partner,  followed by a lazy afternoon.

Recently saw a cookery book all about making various creations with cupcakes. . . .Goodness, how they’ve changed! Even used for weddings instead of the traditional wedding cake.

When my daughter was growing up, I would make these little cakes almost on a weekly basis, but unfortunately, mine were not so creative as some of the ones above.   But, even so, they didn’t hang around for that long, even down to the last crumb, especially with Max around!

Hmm. . . .time for a cuppa & cake. . . .

Garden Additions

Everything seems to be blossoming
into full bloom with such lovely results.

Even shrubs producing their flower heads to trees,

Such as the Magnolia tree,
a magnificant show until the full leave appears.

But, alas,
we have to wait just a wee bit longer
for the lilac to produce it's stunning mauve flowers.

Retail Therapy

Just loved browsing around this shop situated in Dunster, Somerset.
Could have easily spent loads but adult restraints eased there way in. . . .

So much to choose from,
but lots to give a home personal character.
I eventually bought a roll of the above ribbon,
a minature wooden hanger of the 'Dove of Peach'.
And, finally a hanging string of hearts & one of metal  bronze birds.

Just wish I knew the name of the shop!
I'll just have to go again!

Colours of Spring

Beautiful Blossom, definitely a good sign of Spring.

My first sighting of  tulips, but a miniature variety.

Aubretia & Forget-me-nots thriving.
Perfumed Hyacinths in full bloom.

Don't know the name of the above shrub, but the colours are most striking.

The last flourishes of the Pussy Willow before decked with leaf.

All flowers & plants were discovered on my visit to Dunster,
 last Thursday.
Very uplifting & inspirational.

At Easter

Understanding why we have Easter & its significance,
it just seems appropriate to post something related to churches

These photo were taken on Thursday during a visit to Dunster, Somerset.
The churchyard was very tranquil,
& swathed with a sea of daffodils on the walk to the main door.

The small market town  dates back to saxon times,
which retains much of its unique charm.

All Change

Three months of the year has gone already &  last weekend,
we lost an hour as the clocks had be put forward by an hour!
The official change took place last Sunday at 1am. . . .

Now we have to wait until October to gain that hour back!

But, although it did take a bit of readjusting,
 there are definite compensations.
The thoughts of continuing into Spring & finally into Summer.
The evenings are now lighter for longer which will gradually increase.
The garden is showing more signs of life!
Lots more colour, even noticed a butterfly fluttering around at the weekend.
Plants are flourishing.
Nature naturally progressing as the times & seasons change daily.
Wonderful!
