The Month of June. . . .

Had to keep busy with other predominant issues this month.
Plenty of correspondence to see to with people to ring.
Fortunatley, my writing equipment isn't so old as those shown below,
but the old typewriter,
certainly pocesses a nostalgic style. . .

It was also my friend's wedding this month,
so now busily trying to compile wedding photos together,
to give her as a present.
Particularly like the photo of the small bridesmaid.
As the confetti fell, she sat on the ground,
& started picking up the confetti,
 most probably,
eager to throw once again.

But, this month also mean't,
I had the chance to spend some quality time with my daughter.

With even a visit to a favourite shop.

River walking & Wild Flowers

A walk along the River Barle,
 takes you to Tarr Steps,
spanning from one waters edge to the other,
 situated on Exmoor, Somerset.
Photo taken quite awhile ago,
but it always makes me smile.
It was a perfect day,
with wild flowers in much evidence.
The Blue Bell, such a favourite.

Welcome. . . new life!

Born 1st June 2010. . . .

Exciting news for the family,
one of my niece's gave birth to a girl,
they've named Eliana,
weighing 6lbs 13oz.

Can't wait to see her properly,
but as they live closer to London,
a few hours away, it won't be just yet,
but then,
I'm sure they will be glad to re-adjust as a family,
before descending upon them for a visit!

Glorious Weather & Celebrations

A glorious day emerged on Saturday
as my friends wedding was finally here.
The setting couldn't have been more appropriate,
 together with the weather.
A very hot day with plenty of sunshine & blue skies.

The happy couple married in their village,
a beautiful church with amazing stained glass windows
 & other architechtural features.

This day also gave my daughter & myself,
a chance to spend some quality time together,
 which enhanced the day,
making it an extra special time.

Viewing Beyond

St Peter's & St Paul's Church
A beautiful location for my friend's wedding today,
The approach to the church strewn with blossom petals.

Views from the church grounds show more
scenes of the stunning Somerset countryside.

Plenty of Blossom in the surroundings of the church,
perfect for someone's Wedding Day!

Beyond the Church Gates

Visited the Parish Church at North Curry, Somerset,
as my friend is getting married there on Saturday.
Wasn't quite sure where the church was,
so took the opportunity to get my bearings.

A beautiful church in a village setting.

Ancient grave stones showing the elemnents of time. . . .

Shrubs in  blossom. . . .

Gateways leading off into the countryside. . . .

Back through the gateway of the Lytch Gates,
until Saturday.

Watch Me!

This squirrel really stopped me in my tracks,
just goes to show its wise to carry a camera whenever possible.
I was strolling through one of the town's parks on my way to the Doctors.
Had no choice but to stop as this little creature was right in front of me.

He certainly wasn't that shy or timid & he/she stayed for awhile.
I think it was fascinated by the click of my camera,
as the squirrel just stayed & stared,
before finally climbing up the trunk of a nearby tree.

On the subject of Squirrels,
I revisited Swell Nature Reserve last Friday,
It was around about 6ish,
my car was the only one in the car park,
 the birder feeders were empty,
rain was in the air.
Totally different to a previous trip there,
 but so many Squirrels!
Unfortunately,
they didn't hang around for a photo shoot.
Lucky even to capture the one climbing the tree below.

Needless to say,
this visit didn't last that long.
Left it too late in the day.
