Indulge

A task for today is to remove all the beads & buttons from this bag.
Some of the beads were now missing after alot of use.
There is quite a selection & they are far too good to throw away.

This was one of my daughter's cast-offs!

. . . . and finally, a little while later, this was completed.
Now, quite a selection of beads for future projects.
I may even beable to re-salvage the bag with
a bit of tender loving care!

And then for some sheer indulgence, to make a Chocolate cake.
I haven't made one for awhile.

Inspirations

Because of the recent rainstorms, I've been browsing through my archive of cross-stitch patterns & increasingly looking at anything to do with flowers, maybe the photo's of such beautiful blooms are being an inspiration. . . . .

Weddings

The cross-stitch project was ideal as the overall wedding theme was burgundy red, as the wedding took place just days before Christmas.

A smaller version of the previous embroidery.

A present for my niece & her husband together with the calico heart to open on their special day in Barbados.

I always try to discover what the colour theme of the wedding is, which is then a colour I can incorporate.

This cross-stitch project was for a June bride & her husband.
This time, I included the date of their wedding to make it even more personal.

Calico Hearts

I was given loads of calico so I had a go at making these hearts.

The first one was for my neighbour, a special friend.

The heart above was for my niece and her husband.
They were married in Barbardos with only parents & siblings present.
I gave this to them to open on the day of their wedding,
so that they would be reminded that we were thinking of them
on their special day.

A more personalised heart.
The buttons & ribbons came in very useful for these projects.

Birth & Birthdays

My most recent was the Cocktail & glass for a 21st Birthday.
Very please at how this turned out.

I was also fortunate enough to have been able to do the cross-stitch for Lucy's 18th aswell.

If a lack of time, then I have just created intials to be slipped into the front of a photo album.

These pressies I've found to be brilliant for several different celebrations.

And not forgetting Birth samplers,
one for a Boy & one for a Girl!

Colours & Threads

Just a selection of some
of the threads I have collected over the years for cross-stitch projects or other embroidery.
I have collected all my skiens with the Anchor brand

Also, I find it useful to collect ribbons, buttons & any other trimmings that may enhance a future project.

In my subsequent post, I will share some of my recent & past projects, although most I have given away, but friends have been really please with something so personal, so its given me lots of satisfaction.

I've started taking photo's of my completed pieces, which I didn't do in the beginning & regret.
So good to remind myself of what I've done & a help with other ideas
