After the Rain

Raindrops have fallen. . . .

but the sun is shining with beautiful blue skies. . . .

Autumn hanging baskets are planted. . . . .

Autumn Sunshine & Showers

Autumn colour & changes in the garden.

Leaves may be decaying. . . .

but some plants are flowering & thriving. . . .

While plants are surviving the first of the Autumn storms. . . .

the garden spider effortlessly clings onto to it's well woven web,

which is glistening with the fallen raindrops.

Gradually, the weather is changing.

The days are becoming shorter as the nights are now drawing in.

But this season certainly has it'd charms. . . .

Visit to Kew Gardens

Enjoying a lovely day at Kew Gardens last Sunday,

a day really wasn't long enough. . . .

The vast gardens has a variety of trees and,

 as we now enter into Autumn,

the leaves are starting to turn from its various shades of green,

 into the warmer shades of Autumn. . .

One of the more modern sites in the gardens is the Princess of Wales Conservatory,

a very large complex home to many cacti, exotic flowers & plants besides other delights. . . .

Nearly Over

Recently, returned to the Blackdown Hills, where I had visited in July,

when there was an absolute abundance of butterflies, moths,

bees & other nature delights, including a wealth of wild flowers.

The area was very desolate of much of this,

although just managed to capture some of the remains from

the summer season.

A member of the Dandelion.  Although considered as a weed, thought this was stunning.

 Believe me, not a great lover of flies, but this one caught my attention because of it's markings.

Identified it has the Flesh Fly.

Signs of Autumn

      

Now, there's plenty of evidence that show's signs of  the forthcoming Autumn.   So many plants so heavily laden with berries.  Will certainly keep the birds happy, but I just hope it's not a signal for a very hard or long winter.

Hedgerows full of ripening Blackberries. . . . really delicious in a pie especially with apples.
